Enrollment Outreach

Ingenium Charter School attempts to attract, enroll and retain the broadest spectrum of students and families representing Ingenium’s diverse community.

ICS is nonsectarian in its programs, admission policies, employment practices, and all other operations. ICS does not charge tuition and does not discriminate on the basis of the characteristics listed in Education Code Section 220 (actual or perceived disability, gender, nationality, race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic that is contained in the definition of hate crimes set forth in Section 422.55 of the Penal Code or association with an individual who has any of the aforementioned characteristics). While ICS is open to any student in the state pursuant to charter law, space in the school is limited.

Outreach Efforts

Ingenium continues to be a member of the West Hills Chamber of Commerce and Canoga Park Neighborhood Council. Through these affiliations, ICS is working to build partnerships with the local business community. This year, ICS staff again visited local preschools to discuss the ICS system to prospective parents. As a result of these informational sessions, the number of tour requests has risen relative to the same period last year.

Over the last quarter, Ingenium staff attended multiple community events including local holiday celebrations. Through this outreach, Ingenium has partnered with organizations such as Education Through Music,  Academic Chess, Soccer Shots, DJ & Rico Music Company, and a Southern California based professional poet. These relationships fortify ICS' emphasis on developing the whole child.

To further build community partnerships, Ingenium has fostered relationships with local colleges such as Cal State Northridge, which sent four externs from its blended teacher education program to work with our teachers this past year. Based on the success of this relationship, CSUN has again offered to partner with ICS. Ingenium is also in the planning stages of developing joint professional development opportunities with UCLA and other Southern California colleges.

Our parent liaison, office managers and many staff are bi-lingual.
